MID-CENTURY MODERN

No mater the decade, mid-century modern always stays in vogue.

Emerging in post-war America in the 1950s and 1960s, the mid-century modern style was born of a desire to break away from the moulds of the pre-war era and embrace technical progress and a promising future.

Many of today's iconic pieces of furniture were created during this period, such as the egg chair, the bone chair and the lounge chair, creating a free and airy atmosphere between indoors and outdoors, with a lot of sliding doors and rich woods, the preferred wood being teak.

Mustard yellow, chartreuse and avocado are the predominant accent colours and are favoured to bring that touch of energy and pop. Mid-century modern is also the perfect medium between form and function, combining timeless elegance with innovation. A mix of retro charm and contemporary flair.
